Cordi PNP chief heads gift-giving


   CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – A team from the regional police officer led by Cordillera police director Brig. Gen Israel Ephraim T. Dickson brought cheers to children this Christmas by giving them gifts.

The team composed of members of the directorial staff with the family of the Regional Director went to the DSWD Center for Children at Sgt. Floresca Street, Aurora Hill, Baguio City to distribute gifts to the children on Dec. 23.
Abandoned and neglected children aged 9 years old and below under the custody of the Center were given assorted toys, ready to eat food and items such as milk, diapers, and laundry soap.
In a short program, Dickson wished DSWD staff and children a happy Christmas this yuletide season.
Meanwhile, after the midnight mass on Dec. 24 at St Paul Church, Camp Maj Bado Dangwa, assorted toys were also distributed to children who attended the mass.
A regional police press release said the activities were manifestation that police care for less fortunate members of the society.

Trike driver rapes two caroling girls

MALOLOS, Bulacan  – A tricycle driver was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly raping two girls, aged eight and 10, on Monday night.
Col. Emma Libunao, acting Bulacan police director, said the victims were caroling in Barangay Kaypian, San Jose del Monte when the suspect asked them to ride his tricycle so he could bring them to his house to give them money.
Libunao said the suspect brought the girls in a vacant lot, where they were raped.
Barangay officials turned over the suspect to the police.

3 stabbed to death in Rizal, Cagayan

RIZAL, Cagayan — Three persons were killed in stabbing incidents in Rizal and Cagayan on Tuesday.
Police said Felipe Zabanal was stabbed by Jibril Hamama, who barged into the house of the victim in Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal at around 6 p.m.
In Cainta, brothers Kier Anthony and Guijay Santader allegedly stabbed Franco Dumagat a few hour after the victim beat them.
Police said Marcos Doniego, 18, had just attended a Christmas party and was walking on his way home when he was  stabbed by Rodelio Orteza in Barangay Remebella, Buguey, Cagayan.
Orteza claimed a fortune teller he consulted identified Doniego as the person who stole his cell phone.
