Union –
Four alleged members of the Communist Party of the Philippines recently
surrendered to government authorities in Ilocos Sur and Cagayan towns.
In Sulvec, Narvacan , Ilocos Sur, a CPP-New
People’s Army guerrilla allegedly voluntarily surrendered to authorities
Tuesday evening, Feb. 18.
PRO1 Regional
Director Police Brigadier General Joel S. Orduña identified the purported rebel
as Danilo C. Boquing also known as Dandi, Gardo, Molen, Rannie, and a resident
of Barangay Baluarte, Salcedo, Ilocos Sur.
According to 702nd Infantry Brigade
Commander Col. Audrey L. Pasia, Boquing was a member of the CPP-NPA’s Platoon
South Ilocos Sur, and former secretary of the Sangay ng partido sa Platon
Sandino.
Based on the
report, Boquing was surrendered to Pasia and Police Col. Ysmael Yu, deputy
regional director for operations and acting officer-in-charge of the Ilocos Sur
Police Provincial Office.
The rebel has
five standing warrants of arrest for murder, attempted murder, and robbery.
He is now under the custody of the 702nd
Infantry Brigade.
In Rizal, Cagayan, three alleged members of the
CPP-NPA’s Milisya ng Bayan of the CPP-NPA surrendered on Wednesday.
Brig. Gen.
Angelito Casimiro, chief of Cagayan Valley police, said two of the surrenderees,
identified only as Gilberto, 35, and Jomar, 28, both farmers, yielded to the
Rizal municipal police at around 10 a.m.
The third
surrenderee, Dencio, 53, gave himself up to the Sto. Niño municipal police. --
