LAMUT, Ifugao --
The municipal government here urged the public to stay
at home, practice proper hygiene, wear protective masks
and observe social distancing as Lamut recorded its
second confirmed Covid-19 case.

Montessa, Municipal Health Officer, confirmed the new patient is a 34 years old
male from Barangay Panopdopan and member of the Coast Guard
based in Binondo, Manila.
The patient
arrived in Lamut on May 1 and following LGU and DOH protocols, he
was brought to the Tourism Village for the mandated 14-day
quarantine.
As he had
cough, he underwent swab testing. Result on
May 12 bared he ws positive of Covid-19.
The patient is now confined at the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center in Nueva Vizcaya and in stable condition. Contact tracing is underway to identify those whom the patient may have come in contact with so that necessary interventions maybe done.

Lamut
recorded Ifugao’s first COVID-19 confirmed case last month, a 65 years old male
resident of Poblacion East who has now recovered.
The barangay
was placed under total lockdown from April 25 until May 8 after the rapid
and swab tests conducted at the ground zero yielded negative results.
The Lamut
government requested the town be placed under extended enhanced community
quarantine until May 15 which was granted by the chairman of the Cordillera
Regional Interagency Task Force Group COVID-19.
