Abra task force validates anti-insurgency projects

SALLAPADAN, Abra -- The Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed-Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) recently visited Barangay Naguillian here to inspect projects under the Support to the Barangay Development Program.
Naguillian is one of six barangays identified for development projects in the province.
There are two in Sallapadan, the other is barangay Ududiao, and four in the municipality of Malibcong namely Dulao, Duldulao, Bayabas and Umnap.
Dept. of Interior and Local Government provincial director Millicent Cariño and Provincial Engineering Office head engineer Rey Alagao led review of   proposed projects  in Naguillian, establishment of a water system and a farm-to-market road for possible improvement.
These were proposed by local officials during consultation meeting with PTF-ELCAC.
Alagao said water meter should be installed once the project is completed to ensure consumption of water supply for each household.
“It is a reminder for all that we must practice self-discipline every time we use our water supply in order for this project to be maintained and sustained for the benefit for all,” Alagao said.
The PTF-ELCAC will visit other SBDP beneficiaries for another consultation before the bidding and implementation of the projects for this year.
The SBDP is in line with executive order 70 of President Rodrigo R. Duterte institutionalizing a “Whole-of-nation” approach in ending local communist armed conflict towards attainment of sustainable and inclusive peace. -- PIA Abra
