LAGAWE, Ifugao -- More than P58 million worth of
assistance were provided to beneficiaries of the Second Cordillera
Highland and Agricultural Resource Management Scale-up Project of the Dept. of
Agriculture in Ifugao.
Fund grants included projects for agro-forestry, rural infrastructure and trainings given to people’s organizations in barangays Abatan of Hungduan, Anao in Hingyon and Gumhang in Tinoc.
Abatan received P23.99 million while Gumhang and Anao got more than P23.84 million and P10.22 million respectively.
Jerry Damoyan of the DA-Cordillera said the CHARM-2 Scale Up project is offshoot of implementation of CHARM 1 and 2 projects in previous years.
“The CHARM project is a partnership among the DA, national government agencies, local government units and funding agencies. Our advocacy is a project demand driven rather than supply. It should be what the beneficiaries need,” he said.
