Hedcor gives aid to towns hit by storm

By Estefany Mae Tawagon

Hedcor also responded to calls for help from municipalities with relief packs and ready-to-eat food handed to some 1,800 families.
These included rice, canned goods, and noodles.
Hedcor workers also road helped in clearing roads to ensure vehicle mobility in delivering aid to affected communities aside from donating over 200 liters of gasoline used in heavy equipment to clear off debris.
Said assistance was given to municipalities of Sablan, Itogon, La Trinidad and Bakun in Benguet; Sabangan in Mountain Province and Alilem in Ilocos Sur.
“In this trying time of uncertainty, we acknowledge Hedcor and its communities are stronger together,'' says Rolando Pacquiao, Hedcor’s president and COO.  “Together, we will get through this; and that our collaborative efforts will surely help our affected communities recover.”
In Barangay Poblacion in Bakun, Benguet, the typhoon caused its health center and a portion of its barangay hall with some other houses to be dilapidated.  “It is unfortunate, but we are working as one to rebuild and bring back the normalcy of our barangay,” said barangay chairman Mateo Osias.
In response to the assistance, Bakun Mayor Bill Raymundo acknowledged the partnership the municipality has with Hedcor in addressing immediate needs of the locals. “Agyaman kami iti tulong nga inted yo, Hedcor!” (Thank you for the help you have extended to us, Hedcor)
Sabangan Mayor Marcial Lawilao Jr. said Hedcor’s relief assistance augmented what was provided by the municipality.
HEDCOR and AboitizPower recently gave food packs to Northern Luzon communities affected by Typhoon Maring.
