BAGUIO CITY -- The Baguio City Council has commended the Baguio athletes who won in the 2021 Ayala Philippines Athletics Championships (APAC) in a resolution filed by Councilor Levy Lloyd Orcales.
The athletes who emerged victorious in said sports event were Arniel Ferrera, Dexter Manaois, Katherine Khay Santos, Louie Agawa, and Erika Marquez.
Ferrera received Gold in the category Hammer Throw; Manaois won Gold for 200 meters category; and Santos brought home two Gold medals for the Long Jump and 100 meters categories;
Meanwhile, Agawa is a silver medalist for the 1500 meters category while Marquez is a bronze medalist for the Long Jump category.
The competitions were held at the Baguio City Athletic Bowl from December 16 to 17, 2021
According to the city council, the athletes’ outstanding performances have brought pride to the city by becoming victors in the different leagues in APAC 2021.
Copies of the resolution will be forwarded to the City Administrator's Office-Sports and Recreation Division and to the City Accounting Office for the processing of the athletes’ sports incentives after due evaluation of submitted documents in compliance with Ordinance 47-2021 or the Comprehensive Sports Development Code of the City of Baguio.
