TUGUEGARAO CITY -- The regional police recorded 105 dismissed officers because of various infractions since “internal cleansing” was initiated in 2016, the Cagayan Valley regional police official said.
Lt. Col. Efren Fernandez 2nd, Cagayan Valley police spokesman, said the dismissal from service of police showed the organization does not condone violations.
The regional office records from the Discipline Law and Order Section showed 41 were from the regional police office, 18 in Cagayan, 11 in Isabela, 10 in Santiago City station, nine in Nueva Vizcaya, six at the Regional Headquarters Support Group, five at the Regional Mobile Force Battalion, four in Quirino and one in Batanes.
The dismissal came after a "due process" with notice and hearing as the accused police officers have been given chances to clear their names or air their side, but will be removed or suspended if found guilty.
Those dismissed were found guilty of grave misconduct, grave neglect of duty or absence without official leave, while others were removed for conduct unbecoming of an officer.
