Maj Tactay new Bontoc police chief

BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Bontoc Municipal Police Station welcomed its new chief of police Maj. Pedro Tactay here June 3 during turn-over of command at the municipal capitol.
    Outgoing chief of police Maj. Joshua Mateo expressed his  gratitude to the Bontoc local government for their support and cooperation during his term.
    “Having been assigned as the chief of police here in the capital town of Mountain Province has been a great opportunity for me. I thank my colleagues in the Bontoc MPS for their support and for always demonstrating teamwork” he said.
    Mateo assumed as town police chief March 2021.
    Meanwhile, Maj. Tactay lauded efforts of Mateo and local police force in maintaining Bontoc, a safe and orderly community. 
    “Every time a police officer is assigned to a new place of assignment, it is a challenge and an opportunity for growth,” he said.
    He expressed commitment to work based on the doctrines of the Philippine National Police. 
Bontoc mayor Franklin Odsey who was guest of honor and speaker commended Mateo for his leadership and services rendered to the municipality.
    “Major Mateo took over as chief of police of Bontoc at a critical period, when there was a sudden surge of Covid-19 positive cases in the municipality. During those trying times, the Bontoc MPS, under the able leadership of Mateo, had always been there and worked harmoniously with the Bontoc LGU and other stakeholders,” he said.
    Odsey assured the incoming chief of police that the people and officialdom of Bontoc will support programs and undertakings of the PNP.
