BONTOC, Mountain Province- Service providers from tourism and industry sectors, with employees of the Bontoc local government barangay tourism councils attended Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Training here August 29-30.
Tourism and industry stakeholders who underwent training were workers from hotels, restaurants, transport services, souvenir shops and tourism-related services.
Tourism Operations Officer II Caren Guinayen of Bontoc LGU said the training aimed to provide attendees knowledge, skills and proper attitude to provide quality service to domestic and foreign tourists.
She added the training was part of the Bontoc LGU’s efforts to strengthen tourism experience of domestic and foreign tourists in this capital town.
The Bontoc LGU through the Office of the Municipal Mayor-Tourism Unit requested the Dept. of Tourism- Cordillera Administrative Region for conduct of the FBSE.
The DOT-CAR promptly responded to the request.
Dr. Freddie Quinito, master trainer of DOT was resource speaker.
The LGU initiative was in support of the statement of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., calling all Filipinos to be the country's "tourism ambassadors" and top influencers as greatest asset of Filipinos is their "genuine warmth" and hospitality. Bontoc Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, directed two personnel from Bontoc LGU offices to attend the training.
The FBSE, seminar participants were, was rooted in the seven Ms of core values that Filipinos are widely known for malikhain (creative), makatao (humane), makakalikasan (nature lover), makabansa (nationalistic), masayahin (happy), may bayanihan (helping each other), and may pag-asa (full of hope).
Tudlong commended attendees for their active participation urging them to put into practice the learning they gained from the training as these are essential in boosting the tourism industry in the municipality.
