7 deaths, 4,207 dengue cases in Cordillera

BAGUIO CITY -- Jethro Simeon of the Cordillera Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU) of the Dept. of Health Cordillera said cases of dengue in the region have decreased to 4,207 from January to Sept. 2 this year, 64 percent lower than the 11,598 cases on the same period last year.
From 19 deaths in 2022, seven deaths were recorded this year.
“The decrease is attributed to the joint intensified promotion of all sectors. And the promotion of the search and destroy campaign of the department," Simeon said.
“Local government units are immediately alerted when the DOH notices an increasing trend in cases and our LGUs also immediately act to address the situation,” he added.
