Bontoc b’gay officials take oath

BONTOC, Mountain Province- Newly elected and re-elected barangay officials of this capital town took their oath of office administered by Mayor Jerome “Chagsen” Tudlong, Jr. Nov. 16 at the Bontoc Municipal Capitol Auditorium.
    In his speech, Mayor Tudlong congratulated the incoming barangay officials and saying a public servant’s oath is a solemn pledge to serve and inspire.
    The mayor urged new set of barangay officials to reciprocate the trust and confidence provided to them by their constituents by taking on the responsibilities of leadership with integrity and commitment while delivering expectations of their constituents.
    Vice Mayor Eusebio Kabluyen joined Mayor Tudlong in extending his congratulations to the re-elected and newly elected barangay officials.
     “As candidates who are given the chance to extend your service, be our partners on the ground in providing the best service to our people, “Kabluyen added.
    On behalf of the 16 barangays of Bontoc, Liga ng mga barangay president Jimmy Cherwaken who was re-elected punong barangay of Caluttit in his welcome message, extended his gratitude to the Bontoc local government for its support to barangay LGUs.
    Also in attendance during the mass-oath taking of barangay officials were Sangguniang Bayan members Peter Kedawen, Jupiter Jule Kalangeg and David Coycoyen; Municipal Local Government Operations officer Lourdes Claire Peel; Election officer Virginia Chokowen of the Commission on Elections municipal office, families and relatives of the new set of barangay officials and LGU employees.
    Meanwhile, the incoming new set of barangay officials of Talubin did not join the mass oath-taking as they had their separate oath-taking at earlier date, coinciding with their thanksgiving or “Panagyaman,”
    Their oath of office was administered by Mayor Tudlong.
