Charges filed vs 4 PAG men for ambush in Abra

DOLORES, Abra -- Multiple murder and multiple frustrated murder charges were filed against four alleged partisan armed group members who were nabbed here at Barangay Talogtog by policemen last week.

Police said several witnesses testified against the four suspects for their alleged involvement in the ambush of punong barangay Guyang at the boundary of barangays Pang-ot and Ba-I, in Lagayan, Abra last May 4, which resulted to the death of six persons and wounding of three others.

The four suspects who were charged were named as: Codiem Bilong, Joel Sulian, Celeno Bagnalen and Dominador Balucas.

The cooperation of witnesses was reportedly one of key factors in resolving the killings in Abra.

In another development, elements of the Abra Provincial Police Office arrested Roy Cardona y Magayam, 32, single, jobless, of Laplapog, Villaviciousa, Abra on the strength of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Corpuz Alzate of the Regional Trial Court’s Branch 2 in Abra.

Abra policemen also arrested John Gumanab y Lico-o, 34, farmer, of Laplapog, Villaviciosa by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Corpuz Alzate of RTC Branch 2 in Bangued.
