Chinese envoy vows support to Ilocos Sur

VIGAN CITY – Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Song Tao cited the tourism and agriculture potentials of Ilocos Sur during his visit shortly after the signing of a letter of intent for sisterhood relationship between province represented by Gov. Deogracias Victor ‘DV” B. Savellano and China’s Hunan Province represented by Governor Zhou Qiang.

In his tour of the province, Ambassador Song Tao said that he was amused with the beautiful beaches and agricultural landscape of Ilocos Sur. The envoy was also impressed with the hospitality of the Ilocano people led by Savellano.

“The potentiality of these resources in Ilocos Sur is very much appropriate for us in the China,” Song Tao said. He assured his full support for the approval of the proposed sisterhood pact between Ilocos Sur and Hunan province.

In his message, he pressed for stronger relationship between the Chinese and the Filipinos for the achievement of mutual prosperity, cooperation, economy and peace. He assured his full support to any initiatives and programs between China and the Philippines that relatively for the benefits of the masses.
