SAN FERNANDO, La Union – An elementary school principal was stabbed dead by an unidentified assailant while she was walking on her way home on a dark alley near the national highway in Barangay Bingsat here night of Jan. 4.
Supt. Rolly Bersola, city police director bared this identifying the victim as Jessica Apayo, 39, a native of Ilocos Sur and resident of Zone 7, Barangay Lingsat.
She was the school principal of the Union Christian College. Police said Apayo’s body was found near the Lingsat cemetery by residents.
She suffered nine stab wounds. The investigators said her two cell phones, purse and wallet were intact, ruling out robbery-hold-up as motive of the killing.
Police said Apayo could have been a victim of a drug-crazed killer or vendetta.
