Cordi vice mayors elect new officers

TABUK CITY -- The Vice Mayors’ League of the Philippines-Cordillera elected their new officers and board members here the Tampco Inn Thursday.

Elected as chairman was Tabuk vice mayor Ranier Sarol; vice chairman, Maria Elena Jenkins of Danglas, Abra; secretary general, Noel Ngolob of Itogon, Benguet; treasurer, Sally Febe while auditor was Jovencio Bullaoit of Luna, Apayao.

Voted as board members were vice mayors Daniel Fariñas of Baguio, La Trinidad, Benguet’s Samuel Esguerra, Leonardo Dangoy of Conner, Apayao and Reynaldo Alagao of Tayum, Abra.

The VMLP-Cordillera is under the national VMLP and was created by members to identify and solve issues affecting the city and municipal government administrators especially those concerning local legislation.

Fariñas said the group’s purpose is also to collaborate with national and local government agencies including non-government organizations in attaining efficient and effective local legislations.

“The VMLP-CAR will encourage peoples’ participation in local government legislation and administration. It will also promote a united and concerted action in the reaching countrywide development goals,” Fariñas said. – Dan Ricky Ong
