Hunt on for leader of P2M Baguio plane heist

BAGUIO CITY -- Police are now hunting down a leader of the so-called Pier Gang operating in Central Luzon which has been tagged as one of the suspects in the hijacking of truck loaded with someP2 million worth of “aircraft raw materials” in Baguio on Feb. 1.

Central Luzon police identified the suspect as Joselito Baltes alias Kirat of Tondo, Manila who was identified from a police photo gallery of rogues by the driver and his helper who were found hogtied in their Isuzu Forward Wing truck which was commandeered by five carjackers in Barangay Loakan in Baguio at about 2 a.m. on Feb. 1

In a report to Central Luzon police director Chief Supt. Errol Pan, Bulacan police acting director Senior Supt. Allen Bantolo said at about 9:30 a.m. on the same day, his police operatives recovered the truck registered to Mac Mac trucking Service, which is based in Bacoor, Cavite along the Calumpit-Pulilan road in Barangay Pungo in Calumpit, Bulacan. He said the truck, (REA-174) was carjacked by five men armed with short firearms, who blocked it with black Toyota Revo they were driving in Loakan.

The truck was transporting raw aircraft materials worth about P2 million to Bagiuo City. The P2 million worth aircraft materials, however, had already been carted away by the suspects. – George Trillo
