Bulacan City folks push plunder case vs ex-mayor
By George Trillo
MEYCAUAYAN CITY, Bulacan – Hundreds of residents of this city launched a signature campaign in a prayer rally here last week urging the Ombudsman to hasten the decision on the plunder charge and a string of other cases against former mayor Eduardo Alarilla.
The launching of the signature campaign also gave birth to the umbrella organization for good governance dubbed “Kasama mo Laban Sa Abuso sa Gobyerno” (Kalasag) with a logo of St. Michael the archangel slaying a crocodile, a known symbol of graft and corruption.
Former mayor Adriano Daez and retired Senior Supt. Rolando Lorenzo said that the signature campaign will not only be submitted to the Ombudsman, but to inform and empower local residents on what is happening in the city government.
