BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan– A cop was gunned down here by two unidentified suspects around 7:20 a.m. May 11 along the national road in Barangay Nalsian Sur while driving his motorcycle on his way to the Bayambang Police Station.
The fatality was identified as SPO 1 Renato Valencia, 49, intelligence operative here who lived at Barangay Warey in nearby Malasiqui town.
He was shot five times in the body from a Cal..45 handgun based on evidence gathered by policemen at the crime scene where four empty shells of said gun were recovered.
Valencia was rushed to the Bayambang District Hospital but his attending physician declared him dead on arrival.
The two gunmen who rode in tandem on a motorcycle fled towards southern direction. – Jennelyn Mondejar
