Confessed killer of 2 teens, granny charged

BAGUIO CITY — A 15-year-old boy whom investigators claim confessed to the murder of two teenagers and their grandmother has been charged by the National Bureau of Investigation with double murder and rape with homicide.

The sensational crime which came to be known in media reports as the “Dizon Massacre” is now in the hands of the City Prosecutor’s Office here.

The suspect, who is a high school dropout and a neighbor of the victims, surrendered to the NBI Cordillera Office three days after the commission of the heinous crime which was discovered by relatives of the victims evening of International Women's Day last March 8.

The boy, whose identity has been withheld by the NBI, reportedly executed an extra-judicial confession admitting having committed the crime.

The NBI identified the victims as Jeddah Mae Adarna Baro, 17; Janlie Mae Adarna Baro, 15, and their grandmother Brigida Baro, 60, all natives of Bangued, Abra and relatives of a known and influential family in Abra.

Based on the autopsy report, Janlie was raped after being stabbed by the suspect 17 times in the different parts of the body.

Jeddah sustained 27 stab wounds while their grandmother was stabbed three times.
