Campaign fund squabble

BULL’S HIT
Rudy Garcia

BAGUIO CITY -- Tired of so much political blah blahs, I thought of taking a break for a while and instead write some sports and business issues. But then, I was flooded with text messages, I could not resist the temptation of writing what these senders demanded me to do which I eagerly had to.

The political tandem of Bernie Vergara and Morris Domogan is back and out to bring both heads at the drawing board at the Baguio City hall. Still officially unproclaimed, Vergara won as congressman while Domogan is back as mayor.

Their winning numbers came as no surprise to some knowing they had the backing of the Iglesia Ni Cristo. That is a thing that some losing candidates have to learn. They have to have that kind of charisma in courting the top honchos of the INC. And if you don’t have it, forget the impossible dream!!

There is also this happy news that vice mayoralty candidate Danny Fariñas won by a landslide. It’s no surprise. He didn’t have a strong opponent for good political challenge. Congrats!

I feel sad that the clamor to change all officials sitting down at Baguio City hall did not succeed. Perhaps our people are not yet ready to accept reality for good or they don’t have any coconuts at all?

I also wonder why not any of the local liberal party candidates in Baguio did not make it. I never thought that the past squabble over the missing campaign fund was the reason. Or were there other reasons?

I am happy that this second timer candidate for councilor in Baguio never made it even on the half passing grade score. He was one among the kulelats. Perhaps he got the prize he deserves for being a balasubas and having a dentist wife who is not only mataray but a certified liar and a bad breath. Err, I mean a bad mouther.

Happy are those Muslim people who were victims of this lawyer who was a congressional candidate. This losing candidate was accused by many of fooling them and made money on some cases he handled but leaving these people hanging on the air after getting their money and giving them.. ay ops, err… I mean high hopes.

Now these same people are hoping that this would be the end of the political career of this pulpolitiko who is a known close ally of “Mr. Tabako.”

How true that a close aide of outgoing Baguio City Mayor Reynaldo Bautista Jr. is the operator of an illegal gambling den along Abanao Street? Is it also true that our good bishop knows this? Does the good mayor have knowledge about this or did he give the blessing? If not, then he should investigate this and whip hard the ass of his aide if found true! Right mayor and bishop?

This top official of a demolition team at the city buildings and architecture office should be investigated. Perhaps, some reports are true that this official is serving as a broker on some official functions she is mandated to do which is against the law of prohibited transactions under a certain republic act of the Revised Penal Code.

An example was a scheduled demolition but was deferred through an annotation by the city mayor. She only brought out the document with the annotation only on the day of the supposed scheduled demolition, meaning she kept it in her folder for almost eight days.

But the mayor, upon learning that there was already a final court order superceded his earlier deferment order and ordered implementation of the demolition but this official made a lot of excuses to delay the demolition.

If perhaps true that this official made an agreement with the owner of the structure to be demolished to have the execution delayed, then there is something her superiors should look deeper into.

And knowing engineer Oscar Flores who is the chief of CBAO, this official will surely have a room for all the unbecoming things she did. She really deserves her future place at the kangkungan.
