BAGUIO CITY -- The Irisan dumpsite in Baguio City will be closed soon and rehabilitated this year for the making of another government project.
According to Colleen Lacsamana, head of City Environment and Parks Management office, the area will no longer be used as dumpsite of the whole city, instead it will be constructed as an eco-park.
The project can help the government in attracting the tourists to visit the city.
The people of Irisan especially those who are living in the area for almost 50 years are reportedly opposed to the government project because the dumpsite is their main source of living.
All garbage collected from different places of the city are being brought to the province of Tarlac.
