BONTOC, Mountain Province – No winner during the May 10 elections has yet been proclaimed due to glitches like burning of PCOS machines and non-submission of elections returns.
The winner in the race for the congressional seat is still unclear with election returns not submitted from some precincts in the towns of Paracelis, Barlig and Sabangan. Incumbent Gov. Maximo Dalog and former Sabangan town mayor Jupiter Dominguez were frontrunners at press time.
For governor, lawyer Leonard Mayaen was leading over Marial Lawilao by 6000 votes in unofficial count.
Bonifacio Lacwasan meanwhile emerged top contender for vice governor.
Meanwhile, unofficial winners for the mayoral race in the province were Eduardo Latawan, Sagada; Wellington Pooten, Besao; Simon Lacwasan, Bauko; Danglose, Sabangan; Pascual Sacgaca, Bontoc; Gabino Ganggangan, Sadanga; Mathew Chiawan, Natonin and Anthony Wooden, Tadian.
