By Freddie G. Lazaro

CAMP JUAN, Ilocos Norte – Two motorcycle riders were killed and two others hurt in a freak collision between two motorcycles moving in the same direction along the road in Barangay San Juan, Solsona, this province on June 6.

Police identified the dead victims as Gerardo Alejandro and Ruben Villa, both residents of Barangay Sta. Maria, Piddig, this province, who were riding in tandem on one motorcycle.

Police also identified the injured as Ricky Boy Diego and Mark Edison Dawang, both residents in Barangay Medina, Dingras, same province, and occupants of the other motorcycle.

Traffic probers have not yet established which motorcycle had erred when the two vehicles collided while cruising along the same road.

But they theorized the two motorcycles might have been racing each other when the accident occurred.

After the two motorcycles collided, the one on which Alejandro and Villa were saddled crashed into a tree, throwing off the two riders and landing with fatal impact on the pavement.

Diego and Dawang, on the other hand, crashed on a rice field and suffered multiple bruises and cuts.
