2,312 youth enrolled in ALSclasses
BONTOC, Mountain Province— A total of 2,312 out-of-school youth are enrolled under the Alternative Learning System (ALS) program in the province.
Based on the data provided by ALS division coordinator Susan Aminor, of the total OSY attending ALS classes, 280 are in the elementary level, 1,399 are in secondary level and 658 learners are under the Basic Literacy Program aimed at eradicating illiteracy among OSYs and adults by developing basic literacy skills of reading, writing and numeracy.
Of the total learners, 658 are under the Mobile Teaching Program (MTP); 579 are handled by District ALS Coordinators; 326 are under the Literacy Service Contracting Scheme; 387 under the Learning Support Delivery System; and 362 who are being taught by ALS facilitators employed by the provincial local government unit here.
