Baguio jeepney loading areas allocated by execs

BAGUIO CITY - Mayor Mauricio Domogan last week issued Administrative Order 4, series of 2012 for the allocation of loading areas along Perfecto and Harrison roads for Aurora Hill and Trancoville public utility jeepneys.

This was after deliberation of the Traffic and Transportation Management Committee, as chaired by the mayor, which tackled said transport matters during their recent meeting.

One loading area each for Aurora Hill and Trancoville public jeepneys are designated along Perfecto st, in front of the Old Plaza Theatre.

Another loading area along Harrison road, in front of the demolished building formerly housing Rosebowl restaurant, is allotted for same jeepneytrunklines. The AO specified one loading area each for Aurora Hill and Trancovillejeepney lines.

To prevent clogging of vehicles in that road stretch, there shall be no loading of passengers along Perfecto st corner Magsaysay avenue, and Harrison road from entrance of Harrison Tiongsan grocery to Km. 0 Plaza Garden, the AO states.
Signages shall be prepared and installed by the City Engineer’s Office (CEO) while the Traffic Management Branch of the Baguio City Police Office (TMB-BCPO) shall cause the enforcement of the AO.

Dispatching, orderliness and cleanliness of the loading and unloading areas shall be handled by an operator-drivers’ group and supervised by barangay officials and tanods who has jurisdiction over the area.

Minor traffic adjustments shall be made during the implementation, and as may be determined by the TTMC.

As to the AO, the implementation shall take effect immediately.
