BALER, Aurora– A police major and six other policemen were charged before the provincial prosecutor’s office Wednesday for beating up two rookie policemen at the provincial police headquarters last month.
Charged with serious physical injuries in relation to Republic Act 8094 or the anti-hazing law were Chief Insp. Eric Buenconsejo, PO2 Christopher Soria, and PO1s Jonnelle Valdez, Rafael Dulatre, Runjoe Ramos, Ysrael Doringo ,and Chris Evert Lloyd Querijero. They were earlier removed from their posts.
The charges were filed by PO1s Rommel Derit, 31, and KristianTenoso, 26.
Senior Supt. Benjamin Hulipas, provincial police director, reportedly filed a separate administrative case against the seven policemen Friday before the regional police office at Camp Olivas in Pampanga.
The respondents were accused by the two rookie policemen of beating them up while on training last Feb. 25, 26 and 28 at the provincial police headquarters at Camp Victor Ravina here.
Buenconsejo said told the media has not yet received a copy of the complaint.
He promised to provide a copy of his counter-affidavit “in due time.”
At the time the beatings allegedly happened, Buenconsejo was the director while Soria, Valdez, Dulatre and Ramos were members of the PNP committee that supervised the training. Doringo and Querijero were assigned to the Provincial Public Safety Company.
The two rookie policemen alleged that the beatings were “planned and deliberate” and that they were clearly singled out because their fellow trainees were not subjected to the same acts. -- MG
