Former councilor shot dead by own brother

CABUGAO, Ilocos Sur - Owing to land dispute, an incumbent councilor shot dead his own brother, a former councilor in Barangay Sabang here.

Police identified the victim as Renato Tindoc, while the suspect was identified as Fernando Tindoc younger brother of the victim and incumbent barangay kagawad of same place.

Police said prior to the shooting incident, the victim was constructing a fence along a disputed portion of land tagged by the suspect as “right of way.”

Upon seeing the victim placing fence, the suspect suddenly approached the victim and shot him in the head once at close range using a Cal.38 revolver.

The victim died while undergoing medical treatment in a hospital in nearby Bantay, Ilocos Sur.

The suspect was immediately arrested by responding policemen.
