Cops confiscate hot narra in Kalinga

By Larry Lopez

PINUKPUK, Kalinga -– Police operatives confiscated illegal narra flitches and apprehended three individuals who attempted to transport the contraband out of this municipality.

Deputy police provincial director Supt. Rene Pasikawen, in a report, said police personnel manning a check point at Barangay Junction in Pinukpuk discovered about 280 board feet of narra flitches loaded on a Nissan Path Finder pick-up driven by a certain Judy Agnaya with two other companions.

Because of failure to show legal documents for the lumber, the police took the items and the vehicle and impounded these at the Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer in Pinukpuk, while cases are being prepared against the three.

PInukpuk is one of the towns in the province where narra lumber reportedly comes from, based on earlier reports gathered from authorities.
