2 nabbed in Bontoc slay; P100k set for info on another kill

BONTOC, Mountain Province – A series of murders of young women has rocked this town with relatives and residents clamoring for justice.  

Gov. Leonard Mayaen in his State of the Province Address (SOPA)  here Jan. 14 offered P100,000.00 to anyone who can pinpoint identity of the one who killed a women brigade member early this year, even as two suspects were nabbed the same day for the killing of another young woman.

Florencia Malecchan Kayohan, 22, a resident of Barangay Caluttit of this capital town, was  found  dead along the banks of  the Chico River  morning  of  January 3.

Kayohan was found with a puncture on her neck and injuries on her head.

As of presstime there was still no lead to pinpoint identity of the killer and why the victim was killed, police said. 

Meantime, two suspects in the killing of 22-year-old Sarah Becyagen who was found dead along the road leading to the Samoki bridge here in Bontoc September 11, 2012 were detained at the  Bontoc provincial jail Jan.14 this year.  

Earlier last year, another girl was killed inside a pub.
