DENR processing CARP titles of 1,342 aggie lots in Kalinga

By Peter A. Balocnit

TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- The land management office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources is processing the issuance of titles on 1,342 agricultural lots it surveyed under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP).

Raymundo Mabazza, Kalinga land management officer of DENR said they were processing free patent applications of 410 lot titles for Malin-awa and Balawag and individual applicants from other parts of this city.

He said the community environment and natural resources office of Pinukpuk was also working on 432 applicants, and TabukCenro 500.

He said there were also 325 residential lots under free patent which are ready for titling – 50 under the DENR provincial office, 50 under CenroPinukpuk, and 125 with TabukCenro.

Mabazza revealed they encountered problems relative to the issuance of zoning clearance from the respective local government units.

He said individual applications have to be held in abeyance for the meantime pending the issuance of zoning clearance.

Meanwhile, Mabazza said their office was conducting data cleansing of statistics archives to reconcile present data established through modern gadgets with those gathered before through crude instruments.

“Old statistical figures do not jibe with the actual data derived at present. After initial inventory of our alienable and disposable (A and D) lands, it came out that the A and D areas today are lower as compared with old data,” Mabazza said.
