BONTOC, Mountain Province– The district
engineering office here is set to implement 15 infrastructure projects
amounting to P178,451,000 as programmed in the General Appropriations Act for Fiscal year
2013.
District Engineer Wilbur B. Likigan bared
this saying while the district has been allotted P842,101,000 for 18
infrastructure projects, the district will only be implementing 15 projects
amounting to P178,451,000.00 with individual project costs up to P50 million
which are within the district’s limits of authority.
The regional DPWH office will be implementing
the rest of the appropriation, said assistant District Engineer Charles C. Sokoken.
“The increase of allotment for the
Mountain Province District Engineering Office is in line with the thrust of the
department to fully pave arterial roads and secondary roads by 2014 and 2016,
respectively, as well as the upgrading of bridges to permanent structure before
the end of the Aquino administration,” Likigan said.
Infrastructure projects for this
district engineering office include preventive maintenance project along
Mountain Province-Nueva Vizcaya Road and rehabilitation along Mt. Data Access
Road and sections along Dantay-Sagada Road with a total cost of P32,871,000.
These projects were bid out at the DPWH regional
office on Dec. 27, 2012.
Bulk of the district’s allotment goes
to road upgrading works along Mt. Province-Cagayan via TabukEnrile Road with an
amount of P9,000,000.00, Mountain Province-Ifugao Road (Kiling-Paracelis
Section) with P50M allotment and Dantay-Sagada Road amounting to
P33,480,000.00. P12,150,000.00 is also allotted for the replacement/
strengthening of permanent bridges which include Dawaic Bridge, Kapayawan
Bridge and Tadian Bridge, all along Mountain Province-Ilocos Sur via Tue Road
while P40,950,000.00 is allotted for the replacement (temporary to permanent)
of bridges which include Charoya, Lunas, Macachay and Macassab bridges along
Jct. Talubin-Barlig-Natonin-Paracelis-Calaccad Road and Malanas and Gawa
Bridges along Mountain Province-Cagayan via Tabuk-Enrile Road.
Meanwhile, the DPWH regional office
will be implementing three projects in Mountain Province having more than P50
million allotment which are upgrading along Mt. Province-Ilocos Sur via Tue
Road amounting to P127,740,000.00 and Jct.
Talubin-Barlig-Natonin-Paracelis-Calaccad Road with an allotment of
P439,910,000.00 and the Sabangan-Sagada Road amounting to P100,000.00 which is
under the DPWH-DOT Convergence Program.
At the same time, small-scale projects
on roads, highways and bridges, water system, flood control, school and other
buildings within the province will also be implemented.
These projects with an amount of P20 million
were included by Rep. Maximo B. Dalog in his Priority Development Assistance
Fund (PDAF) for 1st Semester of CY 2013.
