New La Union PNP head named

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union- A new police director assumed his post Tuesday in rites which regional police director Chief Supt. Franklin Jesus B. Bucayu at Camp Diego Silang, Carlatan this province.

After two years of office as La Union provincial director, Senior Supt.  Ramon O. Purugganan formally relinquished his position which  Senior Supt. Ramon L. Rafael, formerly the chief of the Regional Intelligence Division assumed.. T

The ceremony was witnessed by Manuel C. Ortega, La Union governor, as guest of honor and speaker of the said event.

Purugganan said in his speech that crimes significantly decreased during his stint as the provincial director, while Rafael said it is a tough challenge for him to continue the good works of his predecessor.

 “I thank Governor Ortega for this new position and together, with the help of the stakeholders of this province, the local community and all, we shall not fail, we shall continue to sustain the gains, especially in preparation for the midterm elections”, the new provincial director added.

 Meanwhile, uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of PRO1, the 1st Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB1) and the PNP National Support Units based here gathered in celebrating the 19th PNP Ethics Day earlier Wednesday morning at the PRO1 Grandstand and Concord Building.

 With the theme “Serbisyong Makatotohanan, Isapuso’t Isadiwa Tungo sa Mapayapang Bansa”,  the celebration coincided with the traditional Monday flag-raising ceremony. \

 It was highlighted by the awarding of certificate of appreciation to the guest of honor and speaker Angelita B. Concepcion , regional director of NAPOLCOM represented by Evangeline R. Almirante, her assistant regional director.
