Another car falls down NE: 6 dead as Tadian-Baguio van plunges down ravine

ATOK, Benguet – At least six passengers of a Hyundai Starex van were killed while seven others were injured when the vehicle plunged into a 300-meter ravine along the Hlasema Highway in km 43, Barangay Balangbang here dawn of Jan. 27.

Van driver Wilbert Galino, who survived the accident, told police they were heading to Baguio City from Tadian town in Mt. Province when he lost control of the vehicle.

The fatalities were identified as Lawrence Bondad, Raquel Galino, Melanie Rondalis, Kyla Rondalis, JynnarhieGalino, and ClaringPacsiAbalos.


In Bayombong, NuevaVizcaya, a passenger of a Mitsubishi Montero was killed and two others were injured when the vehicle fell into a ravine along the mountain border of this province and Nueva Ecija Jan. 27.

Reports said the car was cruising a steep stretch of the Dalton Pass mountain highway when it fell into the ravine. – With a report by Teddy Molina
