City preps prizes for kids Flower Festival pageant

BAGUIO CITY – The city government is preparing cash prizes for Little Mister and Miss Panagbenga here.
In a resolution introduced by Councilor Philian Louise Weygan-Allan, proposed P41,000 will be allocated as cash prizes for the winners of the pageant.
“The City Council has approved the P4 million 2013 Panagbenga budget as the city’s counterpart to the Flower Festival Festivities and we are asking to be allocated P41,000 from it,” she said.
Allan said, the beauty pageant is an essential part of the celebrations geared towards preservation and protection of the environment, enhancement and empowerment of the youth and strengthening bonds in the present society’.
The champion for the pageant will receive P15,000.00, the first runner-up will receive P10,000.00 and the second runner-up will receive P8,000.00.
Special awards for best in talent, best in ethnic costume, best in gown, best in sportswear, best in swimwear, best in casual wear, darling of the crowd and Miss Congeniality will receive P1,000.00 each.
Event organizer MariverAgayas said, participants to the contest will come mainly from the youth sector with ages ranging five to nine years old.
The Little Mister and Miss Panagbengapageant will be held at the Baguio Convention Center on March 1 at exactly 5 p.m.as part of the yearly Panagbenga Festival Celebrations.
