By Peter A. Balocnit

TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- Government officials and employees were urged to help in local taxation by paying their real property taxes.

Gov. Jocel Baac called on heads of offices to strongly urge their employees to pay their real property taxes.

He told them public service is not only delivering needs of constituents but also by sharing with burden of taxation since taxes are also the source of  salaries in doing public service.

Provincial assessor Jeffrey Uyam also   said employees should  play the lead role in exercising good citizenship by complying  with their obligation of paying yearly taxes due the government.

“There is a need for government employees to get involved in the general revision of real property assessment,” he said .
According to Uyam, Kalinga is the lowest among Cordillera Administrative Region provinces in terms of real property tax collection thus the call   to help  each other raise and collect  taxes which is the lifeblood of governance.
