9  ‘most wanted’ persons arrested

CAMP BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Police reported Wednesday the arrest of nine more persons facing various criminal offenses, including a gun-for-hire and a “most wanted man” who were arrested by joint elements of the Abra Provincial Intelligence Branch, Provincial Public Safety Company, Lagangilang and Lagayan Municipal Police Stations.
           
Reports received by Chief Supt. Benjamin B. Magalong, regional police director Cordillera, identified the top most wanted person in Balaoan, La Union as Ruben Barcena Alvarez, 34,  of Sitio Malango, Barangay San Isidro, Lagangilang, Abra.

He was nabbed by police operatives for two counts of murder and theft at Palpalitpit,  Cayapa, Nueva Vizcaya.

According to Senior Supt. Banjamin Lusad, Abra police director, Alvarez was a member of the “Maala” gun for-hire group operating in La Union, Ilocos and Abra.
Judge Carlito A. Corpuz, of the Regional Trial Court in the City of San Fernando, La Union issued the warrant for two counts of murder while Judge Manuel R. Aquino of Branch 34 issued the warrant for theft.

Magalong said Alallan Malucay Mangeg, listed as   No. 10 TMWP regionwide of Cada, Balili, Mankayan, Benguet, was arrested following an arrest warrant issued against him by Judge Agapito Laoagan, Jr. of the Regional Trial Court Branch 62 Buguias, Benguet for rape.

In Mankayan, police arrested Jhon Banagen Begya, 20 of Itogon, Benguet and a resident of Aurora, Poblacion, Mankayan.

He was arrested in his residence by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Jonathan Chavez Segundo for assault.

According to Magalong,  five wanted persons were also arrested following arrest warrants issued against them.

He identified them as Mina Kiwas Belao, 32, of Banooy, Baculungan Norte, Buguias, Benguet for estafa; Rene Boy C. Enriquez, 30,  of Caropian Anonat, Paracelis, Mountain Province, for murder; Romeo Barcena Azurin, 58, and Roger Bernardez Azurin, 29, both residents of Agtangao, Bangued, Abra for violence against women and their children.

The latest arrested was Jay-el Labuguen, of Pulot, Lagayan, Abra and a resident of Bangbangar, Bangued, Abra for , police said.

3 teens nabbed for carjacking
DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan — In line with the continuing campaign to curb criminality in the province, the Dagupan City Police arrested last week three out-of-school youth (OSYs) suspected of carjacking on Galvan Street, this city.

Supt. Christopher Abrahano, chief of police, identified the suspect of legal age as Justin T. dela Cruz, 19, single, and a resident of Rizal Street, here.

He and his minor-aged cohorts were allegedly caught red-handed while driving away in a Yamaha RS100 tricycle with Plate No. ZT-1419 and owned by Renato S. Sicat Sr. of Callejon Street, here.

They have been charged with violating Republic Act No. 6539, the Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972.

2 Koreans, one hurt in sea mishap
PAGUDPUD, Ilocos Norte – Three beachgoers, including two Koreans, were injured after a jet ski hit a banana boat they were riding in the waters of this town last week.

Reports said that Lee Park Chung, 24, and Park Suu Young, 25, along with Filipino Andrea Riodique, 31, of Manila, are recuperating at the Governor Roque Ablan Sr. Memorial Hospital in Laoag City.

Authorities said the boat, with 13 other Koreans on board, tipped over after it was hit by a jet ski while they were frolicking along the Pagudpud shores in Barangay Balaoi beach.

Cops nab 3 stabbing suspects in La Trinidad
CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet –The quick response of La Trinidad police resulted to arrest of three vegetable porters near the Farm Station, Puguis, La Trinidad, for stabbing a college student around 8 p.m. on April 2.

Chief Insp. Byron Allatog ,La Trinidad police chief, identified the victim as Zaldy Ayan Aplas, 22 of Barangay Balili, La Trinidad.

The suspects were named as Roland Oreondo  Ferrer, 19, presently residing at FC 043 Balili,; Jumarie Aparri, Isnoci, 18, of Swamp, Puguis La Trinidad and one identified as  Alias “Mabo.”

Based on police investigation, the victim and suspects were playing billiards when a misunderstanding ensued between them but were pacified by their companions.

The victim went out of the billiard hall and while waiting for a taxi, the suspects followed him and hit his head with an empty bottle.

Aplas tried to run but “Mabo stabbed his abdomen with a knife.

The suspects were immediately arrested by responding police while Aplas was rushed to the Pines Doctor Hospital for medical attention.

Suspects are now under the custody of La Trinidad police while criminal cased are being prepared for filing against them.

Further investigation werealso being conducted to determine the identity of “Mabo.”

9 wanted persons nabbed after April fool’s day
 CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet -- Cordillera police arrested nine wanted persons who were charged for various offences and after they were arrested in four provinces of the region.

In Abra, Michael Jay Feranil Pilor, 20, of  Poblacion, La Paz was arrested by police for carnapping.

A certain Edwin Bernese Bello, 48, farmer, of  Macarcarmay, Bangued, was also nabbed for estafa. Both were nabbed in their homes.

Peregrina Pagui Orilly, 78, widow of Pangal, Danglas, Abra was also arrested in nabbed in  Poblacion, Dolores, for violation of Presidential Decree 705.

In Benguet, four wanted persons were arrested.One was Cristina  Piswec Tuba-Ang, 56, business woman of Santo Nio, Ambassador, Tublay, Benguet.
 She was nabbed in her residence for estafa with  bail set at P44,000. 

Also arrested was Dino Taguiba Tamaken, 28, farmer of Namita, Malaya, Cervantes, Ilocos, Sur for highgrading.

Ramsey Pagnas Almacen, 34 and Cristobal Dinamling, 29, both residents of Sablan, Benguet were also nabbed in their residences for violation of BP 22 or known as the Anti-Bouncing Check Law.

In Ifugao, Bonifacio Nao-ha Dag-o a 32, married of Bolog, Kiangan town was nabbed in his residence for frustrated and attempted murder.

In Apayao, Jackson D. Daggay, 21, of Sitio Paddig, Caglayan, Conner was arrested in his residence for homicide.

All arrested persons are now under the custody of respective municipal police stations except Almacen and Dinamling who were released after posting bail.

Guard shoots 2 gasoline boys
CABATUAN, Isabela -- – A security guard shot and wounded two gasoline station boys here in Barangay Dimantina, Cabatuan, police said.

Police arrested Jomel Andoy, 20, of Aparri, Cagayan who claimed he accidentally pulled the trigger of his 12 gauge service shotgun.

The victims were identified as Teody de Vera, 40, and Jefferson Domingo. They were taken to the hospital for treatment.
