Cops uproot marijuana in Sagada plantation

SAGADA, Mountain Province -- A hundred and more fully  grown  marijuana plants  were uprooted at  Nacagang barangay  here in this  tourist  town May 6 by local cops led by town police chief Kristine Gamboa. 


The  illegal plants  grown at  Sitio Duko  located near the boundary between Nacagang and  Bagnen, Bauko  were uprooted by  police officers  SPO3 RaffyPinayakan, SPO3 Bonifacio Agpad, SPO3 Abraham Pongad, PO1 EfrenNguddo, SPO3 Rose Golocan,SPO3 Jordan Pecdasen, SPO2 David  Soliba, PO2 Manuel  Awingan and Gamboa.  

The marijuana plantation is reportedly owned by  a farmer from   Nacagang. 

Nacagang kagawads Pablo Naag,Carino Langbay, Crispin  Patani, Maria Agnapan, and Benjamin Basi   witnessed the uprooted plants  collected at the barangay hall of Nacagang before these were carried to the Sagada Police station and to the police regional  headquarters at Camp Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet.

Naag and  Agnapan  said they have been  reminding a farmer to stop planting the illegal drug plant. 

The suspect, a vegetable farmer had reportedly been raising marijuana for  three years now.
