TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- The national government has allocated
P263.4 million funds for repair of 138 communal irrigation systems (CIS) and
8,609 hectares of rice lands damaged by calamities in the province.
Engineer Raymundo Apil, Kalinga- Ifugao- Mt.
Province Irrigation Management Office Manager, said the allocation was
channeled through the National Irrigation Administration.
He said under the calamity level II projects
of NIA in Kalinga, 78 were completed or 62% of the target has been
accomplished while 38% or 60 are ongoing.
“We are fast tracking the completion of the
remaining repairs before the typhoon months,” Apil said.
Allocations to said CIS projects ranges from
P300,000 to P4 million and biggest beneficiaries were completed projects:
Sayang CIS of Mabilong in Lubuagan – P2.8M; Ableg-Magsilay, Pasil CIS – P2M;
Agtanli-Makatunao, Lubuagan – P P2.5M; Bacwet CIS in Pinukpuk – P2M;
Cabaruan-Socbot – P2M; Duppa CIS in Lubo, Tanudan – P2M; Galdang, Pasil – P2M;
Marlonang Lagod CIS in Dangoy, Lubuagan – P2.5M; Pangilinan CIS in Jose
Anniban, Tabuk – P2.5M.
Ongoing CIS repairs with allocations P2
million and above are Kinama Pangol CIS - P4.4 million; Biangaw CIS in Colayo,
Pasil – P3.3M; Hacienda Madrigal CIS in Rizal – P3M; Bulbul CIS, Rizal – P2.5M;
Liwan West CIS, Rizal – P2.5M; Dugpa, Pinukpuk CIS – P2.5M; San Pascual, Rizal
CIS – P2.5M; Malucsad, Pasil CIS – P2M; Pantikian, Balbalan CIS – P2.5M.
The biggest pie of P27.8 million was
for 18 CIS projects that have been completed with nine ongoing.
Pasil got P24.7M for 16 projects, 5 completed
and 11 on-going. Pinukpuk was allocated P18.9M for 13 projects, 3 completed and
10 on-going. Tanudan got P18.7M for 19 projects, 10 completed and 9 on-going.
Lubuagan got P16.7M for 13 projects, 12 completed and 1 on-going.
Rizal jad P15.9M for 6 projects, 1 completed
and 5 on-going. Tinglayan got P13.3M for 19 projects, 17 completed and 2 on-going.
Balbalan was allocated 12.3M for 13 CIS projects, 6 completed and 7 on-going.
The May 26, 2013 status of accomplishment of
calamity level II projects also shows that the Upper Chico River
Irrigation System was allocated P110 million – P70M for Tabuk area and P40M for
Quezon area, are both on-going with the target to
rehabilitate 6,800 hectares.
