Leader of La Trinidad Buguias drug group nabbed

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet -- The leader of a notorious local drug group operating mainly in La Trinidad and Buguias towns of Benguet was captured in a  buy-bust operation against him at around 9:30 p.m. on  Nov. 21, 2013, at Pico, La Trinidad.

Simultaneously, a liquor bar and an apartment unit in La Trinidad, maintained by the group as drug dens where shabu is used or sold and gambling lairs, were raided by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Cordillera Administrative Region in a synchronized raids.

A newly identified member of the drug group was arrested along with nine sachets of shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia, said PDEA – CAR regional director Ronald Allan DG Ricardo.

The alleged gang leader was named as Julim Guillao Olsim, 28, farmer of Buguias, Benguet and resident of Buyagan, Poblacion, La Trinidad, Benguet.

Olsim.in target list of drug personalities in the Cordillera, was busted in possession of shabu, weighing  .62 gram.

On the same night, Ronard Simeon, a newly identified member of the Olsim drug group was arrested at a liquor bar int Pico, La Trinidad.

Simeon, 25, of Buguias, Benguet, was apprehended with five sachets of shabu weighing approximately 1.18 grams.

Additionally, confiscated at the apartment unit  atBuyagan, Poblacion, La Trinidad were three sachets of shabu .

The respondent of the search warrant, who is the drug den maintainer and a member of the Olsim drug group, was not around during the warranted search.

Olsim, simeon and fourmembers of the group will be charged for illegal drugs.

Police said the Olsim drug group is mostly composed of Julim’s relatives; supplying students, and truck drivers and vegetable porters in cahoots with the “Mandu” gang, a group of pickpockets and shoplifters among others.
