Village exec nabbed in LU drug sting



SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – A barangay secretary and her companion were arrested in a drug sting in this city Wednesday.

Angelica Dulay, 38, of Barangay Ilocanos Norte, was arrested along with Elena Cantor, 48, near her house by anti-drug operatives led by Inspector Juanito Buaron.

The sting was conducted by the local police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, said Superintendent Julius Suriben, chief of the city police anti-narcotics team.

Seized from the suspects were 22 plastic sachets said to contain shabu, marked money and a mobile phone.

Suriben said the suspects, who are reportedly listed as high-value targets, are being held at the city police detention cell.

The suspects are facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous  Drugs Act of 2002.
