RTC branch in far Mt Province town sought

By Andrew Dogaong

PARACELIS, Mountain Province -  The Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Mountain Province Chapter urged Congress to create a Regional Trial Court to be based in this remote town.
The IBP officials said there was need to create additional RTC here to address injustice and to correct social inequity in said municipality.

In its resolution, the IBP noted most criminal cases filed at the RTC in Bontoc are originating from Paracelis and increasing yearly.

Citing records RTC records, the IBP said criminal cases from Paracelis are being dismissed due to failure of complainants and their witnesses to appear before the courts to testify because of their  economic condition and hardship travelling to the RTCs located in the capital town of BOntoc.

Paracelis can be reached after travelling for more than ten hours  fromBontoc passing  through  provinces of Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya  and Isabela.

The provincial peace and order council made a resolution supporting creation of an RTC Branch in Paracelis.

Both copies of the IBP and PPOC resolution were  forwarded to Rep. MaximoDalog, Sr. and concerned agencies.  – Andrew Dogaong
