CL security forces vow to crush PAGs ahead of 2016 elections

By Franco G. Regala

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 said it will adopt a new strategy to thwart lawless elements, organized crime groups, and even private armies from disrupting the 2016 elections in Central Luzon.

Although the region had been declared as insurgent-free and has no existing private armed groups (PAGs), the PRO-3 headed by Chief Supt. Rudy G. Lacadin vowed to crush newly formed private armed groups threatening the security of the region.

The PRO-3 director, together with the Army’s 7th Infantry Division under Brig. Gen. Henry Sabarre and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) headed by Region 3 Director Temie P. Lambino, convened the preparatory meeting regarding the security preparations for the 2016 elections in this camp.

The unified efforts among members of the security forces come hand-in-hand with counterparts in other government agencies so that the forthcoming elections will be secured and fair through the signing of the Joint PNP-AFP Security Plan.
