Job seekers invited to Benguet Adivay fair


BAGUIO CITY – Hobseekers are invited to a jobs fair on Nov. 11 and 12 here at the Gov. Ben Palispis hall, Provincial Capitol as part of Benguet’s 115th foundation anniversary themed, “Sustaining Benguet’s Gains.”

The activity is done with the assistance of municipal PESO, in coordination with the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA)-Baguio and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Baguio and Benguet field office.

In a letter-invitation from Benguet Governor Nestor Fongwan, all of Benguet’s Public Employment Services Offices (PESO) are members of the jobs fair committee.

The workforce to be filled are in real estate; building and construction; food, restaurant and accommodation services; sales; information and communication services; online tutors; administrative and support services; household service workers; medical staff; skilled workers and others.

Applicants should bring with them several sets of complete employment documents for employers’ perusal.    

The Ibaloi term “Adivay” meaning “coming together” is a festival of sorts, celebrated with month-long activities; the jobs fair, medical and dental mission, buntis congress, beauty and body building contests, mass wedding, food fairs, Dongba ni Kavajo, agri-farm tourism and trade fair, skills competition, dog shows, health and environment conferences, music and theatrical presentations, coffee and investment forum, mining congress and photo exhibit, 

Sports tournament in arnis, mixed martial arts, airsoft, dama, shootfest, football and badminton and a taekwondo exhibition are also part of the celebration. -- Julie G. Fianza
