Apayao veterinary office employee gunned down

LUNA, Apayao -- An employee of the veterinary office of the provincial government was shot dead near her boarding house in this town Jan. 28.
Lausita Usod, 46, was on a motorcycle on her way home to Barangay San Isidro when motorcycle-riding men shot her around 5:30 p.m., Senior Police Officer 4 Francis Palicas said.
Usod suffered gunshot wounds in the chest and back and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Far North Luzon General Hospital and Training Center.
Three bullet shells for a Cal.45 pistol were recovered at the scene.
In Sta. Teresita, Cagayan, Atilano Antonio, 55, was waylaid while walking near a fishpond in Barangay Caniugan.

Police Officer 2 Christian Ralph Seguro said bullets shells for a Cal.45 pistol were found at the scene.
