BAGUIO CITY --
Athletes of this summer capital bagged the championship for the Cordillera
Administrative Region Athletics Association Meet 2016 with a total score of 212
gold medals, 91 silver medals and 79 bronze medals during awarding ceremonies
Feb. 10 here at the Athletic Bowl.
City athletes sealed
the games with 88 gold, 35 silver and 30 bronze for the elementary category and
124 gold, 56 silver and 49 bronze for the secondary level. Aside from winning
the regular events, the city also ranked 1st runner up in the Special Games,
participated by children with special needs
with a collective score of 14 gold, 15 silver and 13 bronze medals
following the championship of Kalinga - Tabuk City with 15 gold, 10 silver and
2 bronze medals
Declared overall 1st
runner up was Benguet with a collective score of 43 gold, 93 silver and 87
bronze medals followed by Ifugao with 20 gold, 34 silver and 59 bronze medals
as 2nd runner up.
Third runner up was
Mt. Province with 19 gold, 36 silver and 70 bronze medals. Kalinga-Tabuk City
was 4th with 17 gold, 27 silver and 44 bronze. Placing as 5th runner up was
Abra with a score of 16 gold, 31 silver and 34 bronze medals. And completing
the overall result was Apayao with 8 gold, 22 silver and 40 bronze medals.
