CAMP DANGWA, Las Trinidad, Benguet — The
regional Civil Service Commission honored the 11 members of the Philippine
National Police’s Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) who hail from Cordillera and
died in the encounter against Muslim separatist rebels in Mamasapano,
Maguindanao on Jan. 25, 2015.
In a ceremony ahead of
the “Araw ngK agitingan” celebration on April 9, the CSC-Cordillera conferred
posthumously “Lingkod Bayani” award on the 11 Cordilleran SAF heroes.
The honorees were
Senior Insp. Cyrus Anniban; Police Officers 3 (PO3s) Robert Allaga and Noel
Golocan; PO2s Peterson Carap, Walner Danao, Franklin Danao, Jerry Kayob, and
Noble Kiangan; and PO1s Russel Bilog, Gringo Cayang-o, and Angel Kodiamat.
The awards were
presented to their families here Monday by CSC-Cordillera Director Marilyn
Taldo and Chief Supt. Ulysses Abellera, Police Regional Office Cordillera
director.
The CSC said three
other SAF members who hail from the Cordillera region will be honored in their
respective areas of migration.
They are Senior Insp.
GednatTabdiwho in Zamboanga City; PO2 Joel Dulnuan in Region 2; and PO2 Nicky
Nacino in Region 4A.
