Kalinga execs support creation of CAR reg’l prosecution office

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga – Officials of this province support creation of a Regional Prosecution Office in the Cordillera Administrative Region as earlier requested by Benguet officials to President Rodrigo Duterte.
The provincial legislative and executive offices approved Resolution No. 2016-114 asking the President through the Department of Justice to establish a separate regional prosecution in CAR to serve the region.
Local legislators said Regional Prosecution offices   in Regions 1 and 2 are covering CAR, and it takes a long process delaying prompt action to the detriment of Cordillera constituents.

Section 6 of Republic Act 10071 that rationalized the prosecution service provides creation of each administrative region, a regional prosecution office to be headed by a regional prosecutor who shall be assisted by a deputy regional prosecutor, one senior assistant regional prosecutor, three assistant regional prosecutors, and one prosecution attorney.  -- Peter A.
