Philhealth offers package for drug dependents, Zika virus

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga --- Philhealh field office offers medical detoxification package for members who are drug dependents.
Rommel Aranca, Philhealth field office head here, said PhilHealth Circular No. 2016-0030 provides a package rate of P10,000 for the provision of mandatory medical detoxification services.
The package includes physical, mental and neurological exams, urine test, complete blood count, blood sugar, serum, creatinine, chest X-ray, and electrocardiogram (ECG).
Meanwhile, Aranca also bared that Philhealth here is ready for a benefit package covering Zika virus should any member needs it.
The current case rates system provides for an in-patient coverage of P8, 100 for “other specified mosquito-borne viral fevers” including Zika virus infection. The amount includes coverage for hospital charges and professional fees of attending physicians.
Health insurance coverage for Zika virus disease may be availed by PhilHealth members who have at least three months’ premium contributions within the immediate six months prior to the first day of confinement at any of the accredited health care institutions in the country.
