Six soldiers injured in NPA landmine attack


TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Six Army soldiers were wounded when a landmine believed planted by New People’s Army rebels exploded in Barangay Sangbay, Nagtipunan, Quirino Tuesday morning. 
Soldiers of the 86th Infantry Battalion were in a two-vehicle convoy on their way to the camp when the explosion occurred.
“The wounded troops were brought to the Diduyon District Hospital for initial treatment. Three were declared out of danger while three others were transferred to the Cabaroquis Hospital for further treatment,” said Capt. Jefferson Somera, spokesman for the 5th Infantry Division (ID) based in Gamu, Isabela. 

Meanwhile, in Masbate, NPA rebels burned an abandoned military camp in Barangay Calipat-an in San Jacinto town. – Raymund Catindig
